Green Oaks Creek Apprenticeship Program
General Apprenticeship Information
We are still looking for one more apprentice for the 2007 growing season. If interested, read the below description of our program and then contact us.
Our Internship program runs for seven and a half months, from April 1st to Nov. 15. Every year we seek two interns to join us for the growing season. Apprentices help out with many facets of farming such as propagation, field work, animal husbandry, farmers market, CSA program, infrastructure development, decision making, etc. In exchange for working 5 days/week, apprentices are given a $400/month stipend, $50 each time they work a Saturday farmer's market, all the produce they care to eat from the garden, communal lunches on work days (with rotational cooking duties), access to our extensive library and an opportunity to experience farm life while living close to the land. We offer apprentices a yurt near the redwoods with an ocean view that is used for cooking and hanging out in. There are cleared places near the yurt to pitch tents for sleeping and a tub with a fire pit underneath for hot soaks.
We are seeking people with an interest in farming who are responsible, hard working, self-motivated, fun-loving, and enjoy living and working in community.
