Weddings at Green Oaks Creek Farm & Retreat

Every
year we have a handful of weddings here at Green Oaks. We have
a beautiful, extensive, medicinal herb and flower garden that
is a lovely space to hold a wedding ceremony. The fence that
surrounds the garden is covered with a thick passion flower vine,
giving a private, peaceful feel to the garden. As wedding guests
wander along the meandering paths, profusions of colors and smells
capture their attention, while the whirring sounds of humming
birds and a fountain drift in their ears. At the edge of the
garden is a majestic coastal live oak with a clearing underneath
that provides a perfect spot for the ceremony. 200 seated guests
can fit comfortably in this clearing. Couples can choose to stand
either under the tree or a few paces away from the tree, the
latter providing a backdrop of a lush, wild riparian zone.
The reception area is a short walk from the garden and is nestled between a vegetable/flower field and a eucalyptus grove with views of the farm and the adjacent Santa Cruz mountains. This large, open space includes an outdoor, sheltered kitchen with counters, a sink, fridge, stove, pots and pans, and service for 50 people. It is a comfortable place for caterers to set up and utilize. We do not provide catering but we can recommend some excellent, local caterers.
The
reception area has ample space to set up tables, chairs, a dance
floor, and a large party tent (we do not provide these items
but can recommend rental outfits that do). There is plenty of
electricity for either a band or a DJ. The bonfire area can be
a nice focal point for guests when the sun has gone down. There
is also lot's of space for any guests who want to pitch a tent
for the weekend. Our fully furnished yurt can be rented for overnight
stays and can provide a romantic place to sleep for the wedding
couple. We never book more than one wedding on a weekend: for
the same price weddings can occur on one day or all weekend long.
We often provide organic flowers and produce at cost for the weddings that occur here. This allows wedding guests to feel more connected to the land and farm during their stay here.
